The ongoing problems with the main pinion gear for the BBMF Mk XIX Spitfires' RR Griffon 58 engines have previously been covered in detail in the Club members' newsletters, and are also mentioned in the latest Yearbook which will be posted out to members soon. It is hoped that at least one serviceable Griffon engine will be made available this year, initially for PS915, which is currently at Duxford on a major maintenance programme. The air test on PS915 on completion of that servicing may occur in late July to August if everything goes well. (The new yearbook also details the full background story behind the new colour scheme for PS915).
