Official Club calendar 2024 – November photo

During 2024 we are presenting the image from the Club calendar in the newsletter for that month, with some details about the picture, including when and where the photo was taken. For November we chose the evocative photo of BBMF Spitfire Mk Vb AB910, taken by Club member Andy Bell.

Andy tells us:

“The image was taken in August 2017 when the BBMF took part in the Blackpool airshow and used Blackpool Airport as their operating base. Spitfire Mk Vb AB910 was sitting on the apron, basking in great weather with sun, blue sky and light clouds, and this close up image from behind the tail captures the beautiful panel detail.”

“The image was taken using a Canon EOS 5D and EF 24-70mm f2.8 USM lens. Being so close to the aircraft, I could shoot at a focal length of 24mm, aperture of f10, 1/400 second shutter speed and ISO 100, finished with some slight work in Photoshop to remove blemishes and sharpen the details.”
