Official Club calendar 2024 – December photo
During 2024 we have been presenting the image from the Club calendar for that month in the newsletter, with some details about the picture, including when and where the photo was taken. For December we chose this picture because of the intense and focussed look in the eyes of the pilot, actually Squadron Leader Mark ‘Suggs’ Sugden, OC BBMF, sitting in the cockpit of BBMF Spitfire IIa P7350 ready to go flying. We titled it “The eyes have it”!
The photograph was taken by Club member Adam Chester at the 2022 BBMF Members’ Day. He told us: “I find it’s not always worth looking up at the skies at the Members’ Day with so much going on around you. I just happened to notice the concentration on the face of the pilot waiting for the call to start.”
The photo was taken on a Nikon D7200 DSLR camera with a focal length of 600mm at f/14 and with an exposure of 1/100 second.
