The Royal Air Force and Lincolnshire County Council operate in partnership to allow visitors access to the BBMF hangar at RAF Coningsby on guided tours to see the Flight’s aircraft at close quarters. During the COVID-19 lockdown, the BBMF Visitor Centre was forced to close temporarily, in line with the Government measures to control the spread of coronavirus.

The Visitor Centre is now open again, Tuesday to Friday each week, 10am to 2pm, for pre-booked hangar tours only. There are six hangar tours available on each of these days, lasting a maximum of one and a half hours. Places on each tour are limited to a maximum of five (exceptionally six) visitors and must be booked at least seven days in advance. Currently, the Centre is not accepting bookings for larger group visits or coach parties. The front gate to the Visitor Centre is kept locked and is opened by staff to admit pre-booked visitors only. Visitors are asked not to arrive earlier than 10 minutes before the booked tour time. To ensure the safety of visitors and staff, social distancing will be maintained and face coverings are required. The Tea Bar remains closed (refreshment facilities are available in the local area). Please note that bags (including handbags) are not permitted on site, and storage cannot be provided.

The BBMF Visitor Centre offers visitors the opportunity to view the Flight’s iconic and legendary aircraft at close quarters, observe the BBMF technicians working to maintain them in airworthy condition, and to find out more about the BBMF aircraft on a guided tour of the Flight’s hangar. Bookings can be made by emailing [email protected] or by telephoning 01522 782040. Members of the RAF Memorial Flight Official Club are entitled to free hangar tours on production of a valid Club membership card on arrival. Admission charges apply to non-Club members.
