It is with deep sadness that we confirm that the BBMF pilot who lost his life when Spitfire Mk IX MK356 crashed shortly after take-off on Saturday 25th May was Squadron Leader Mark Long, who had been due to take command of the BBMF in October this year.

We know that all Club members will be thinking of his family and friends, the BBMF who are also shocked, saddened and grieving over his loss, and his wider RAF family.
