Win a copy of Lisa Harding’s book flown in the Lancaster

For this month’s Club members’ ballot prize, we’re giving away a very special copy of Lisa Harding’s book, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in Photos - it flew in the Lancaster on Members’ Day. We will randomly select one Club member to win the book.

About the prize

This month one lucky Club member will win a very special copy of Lisa Harding’s book, The Battle of Britiain Memorial Flight in Photos.

Not only did the book go for a flight in the Lancaster on Members’ Day last month, it has also been signed by Lisa, OC BBMF Sqn Ldr Mark ‘Suggs’ Sugden, and Sqn Ldr Paul ‘Ernie’ Wise who captained the Lancaster during its Members’ Day flight.

This prize is a truly special piece of BBMF memorabilia to add to your collection if you win, as it comes with a certificate to show it flew in the Lancaster that day.

The book retails at £39.99.

Publisher, Mortons, describe this collection of over 150 images as unique perspective on the historic aircraft and hard-working personnel of the BBMF.

Having spent many years photographing the Flight, Lisa’s book chronicles winter maintenance, out-of-season practice displays and some spectacular ‘hot starts’. Ground crew can also be seen performing their duties both indoors and out and her images of pilot training provide views rarely seen by the public.

The book also features a collection of notable displays showcasing memorable moments from the past decade, including the gathering of three Lancaster bombers at East Kirkby, the last two airworthy Lancasters flying together down the Derwent Valley, the RAF100 Buckingham Palace flypast and the Dambusters 80th anniversary.

The photos are presented with commentary from Lisa to provide both background and technical details on how the shots were taken.

If you are not lucky enough to win the book this month, you can purchase a copy here.
