Official Club calendar 2025 – February photo

During 2025 we are presenting the image from the Club calendar in the newsletter for that month, with some details about the picture, including when and where the photo was taken. All the photos in the calendar were taken by Club members.

For February we chose this marvellous picture of BBMF Lancaster PA474 during a display, almost head-on with the bomb bay doors open, which was entered into the calendar photo competition by John Lovett.

John tells us that the photo was taken at Coningsby in May 2023 during the BBMF’s pre-season work-up training, prior to Public Display Authority being granted. He says he usually tries to get to Coningsby in May before the display season starts.

The photo was taken on an OM-1 camera at ISO 200, f-stop f/9 and exposure of 1/320th second, with a focal length of 400mm.
