Autumn Journal 2025

RAF Memorial Flight Official Club 2025 Autumn Journal

The latest Club magazine – the 2025 Autumn Journal – will be arriving with members soon.

The Autumn Journal includes a farewell message from OC BBMF, Squadron Leader Mark ‘Suggs’ Sugden, as he hands over command of the unit after four years at the helm. We also introduce the new OC BBMF, Squadron Leader Paul ‘Ernie’ Wise, with his personal message to Club members. This issue is then full of the usual mix of historic and up-to-date features remembering and recalling the men, women and machines of the Second World War, especially those represented by the BBMF aircraft, while providing members with the latest information from the Flight with stunning pictures. The regular ‘Keeping ’em flying’ series this time features details of the planned work on the BBMF Lancaster during its forthcoming extended ‘Major’ maintenance programme, which will keep it out of action next year. An article covering the return of BBMF Dakota ZA947 to Coningsby, recaps the massive amount of work done on the ‘Dak’ during its extended Major and its new South East Asia Command India/Burma colour scheme and markings.

The Club magazines are published exclusively for members of the RAF Memorial Flight Official Club and are not on sale to the general public. To receive a copy of the 2025 Autumn Journal and all the future twice-yearly Club magazines, join the Club here.
