About Flywheel 2017
Flywheel is a spectacular family day out that combines the very best of heritage action to create a weekend of nostalgia and excitement.
Expect to see magnificent displays and flypasts from historic aircraft – including displays from the BBMF’s own Spitfire (Saturday 24 June) and Dakota (Sunday 25 June) - thrilling demonstrations by historic road and racing cars; and dramatic military vehicle displays and re-enactors.
You can also see hundreds of classic cars and bikes on show and spend time enjoying the vintage shopping, traditional fun fair rides and period music performances. Or take a ride in a tank or a passenger flight in a Tiger Moth. Or just sit back and relax and soak up the atmosphere of this unique venue.
Richard Grafton, director of Flywheel, noted: “Over the past two years we’ve worked hard to deliver an atmosphere that really sets this event apart. Visitors can get close to the action in the open-access paddock and stand trackside as hundreds of classic cars and motorbikes demonstrate their prowess. All of this while witnessing incredible aircraft displays on the Bicester Heritage airfield.”
