Win a fantastic ‘Experience Day’ at the BBMF

April ballot prize – a fantastic ‘Experience Day’ at the BBMF

The members’ ballot prize for April is a true ‘money-can’t-buy’ chance of a lifetime. One lucky Club member will experience a day at the BBMF on one of the planned weekend flying days during the display season.

The lucky winner will be able to bring up to 3 guests to RAF Coningsby on Saturday 4th June, one of the few weekend days of the 2016 display season when the Flight is not deployed away and, weather permitting, there is flying planned from the Flight’s home airfield, ‘out-and backs’ as the BBMF calls them. The winner and guests really will be able to get to the heart of the action during the day.

The flying programme for that day currently includes the Lancaster with a Hurricane and Spitfire departing from Coningsby for displays at Scampton and Wittering and 2 other flypasts, before returning to Coningsby. Meanwhile, there is a second Hurricane ‘out-and-back’. The Dakota is flying off to Lossiemouth in Scotland and returning later in the day. So, weather permitting, there should be plenty going on and plenty of action to see.

Members of the RAF Memorial Flight Club have been entered into April's prize draw, to win an experience day at the BBMF.
You could be this close to the action if you win the Club ballot prize for April and join the BBMF for a day on 4th June – an experience that money simply cannot buy.

The winner and guests will be permitted access to the RAF Station at Coningsby, via the main gate (the BBMF Visitor Centre is closed), and then inside the BBMF HQ, which is not normally open to the public. The escort and host for the day will be Squadron Leader (retired) Clive Rowley, a former fighter pilot and Officer Commanding BBMF. Clive is now the BBMF publications editor.

The group will get behind the scenes at the BBMF and, depending on timing, may even be able to attend the BBMF aircrew briefing. There will certainly be the opportunity to meet and chat with the BBMF pilots, crews and ground crew during the day and to watch the aircraft coming and going from a very privileged stand point. There will also be the chance to get ‘up close and personal’ with the BBMF aircraft, those involved in the flying and the others in the hangar.

All in all, this is a fantastic and exclusive prize, available only to Official Club members. If you’re not already a member, make sure you join the Club by Sunday 1st May to be entered into the prize draw.

Please note that this prize is not transferable and is only available for 4th June 2016. Flying is dependent on the weather. Other terms and conditions will also apply.
