Official Club 2025 calendar – November photo

During 2025 we have presented the image from the Official Club calendar in the newsletter for each month, with some details about the picture, including when and where the photo was taken. All the photos in the calendar were taken by Club members.

For November we chose this beautiful action-packed photo, by Club member Craig Bullivant, of BBMF Spitfire Mk Vb AB910 on approach to land at RAF Coningsby with undercarriage and flaps down and the cockpit canopy open. The movement of the propeller particularly impressed the judges. Although we didn’t know it at the time, it turned out to be most appropriate for November 2025, as this is the month when we expect to get AB910 back from its ‘Major’ maintenance programme in new markings.  

Craig tells us: “On a Sunday afternoon in August of 2023, excitedly expecting the return of Spitfire AB910 and the main lady (Lancaster PA474), myself and my wingman (“Goose”) placed ourselves in anticipation at Crash Gate 3 at RAF Coningsby. Sitting near the end of Runway 25 is always a great place to get close-ups of recovering aircraft, some of my favourite shots are taken from here and we can often be found here throughout the year. On recovery, AB910 carried out a low approach and this picture was snapped. It was taken on a Canon EOS 90D, with a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens, ISO 100, distance 267mm, f13 and with a shutter speed of 1/125s.”
