Official Club calendar 2025 – September photo
The RAF Memorial Flight Official Club 2025 calendar photo for September was this beautiful image of BBMF Lancaster B.1 PA474, in its current markings as ‘AR-L’ “Leader” of 460 Squadron RAAF, which was taken by Club member Neil Pearson.
Neil tells us that he took the photo at The Victory Show which took place from Friday 1st September to Sunday 3rd September 2023 at Cosby, Leicestershire. The Victory Show is an historical re-enactment event focused on the 1940s, with living history displays, battle reenactments and flying displays. Neil said: “The Lancaster performed flypasts at the show, giving some fantastic top side passes. On the Sunday, PA474 performed three perfectly photogenic topsides in some beautiful late afternoon light, on its way back to RAF Coningsby. Always impressive, it made Sunday’s flying display just that little bit better.”
"The image was snapped at 1/100, ISO160 F/13, using a Nikon D850 DSLR coupled with a Nikon 200-500mm F/5.6 Lens and was processed using Adobe Lightroom. "
