The Club office has been receiving a number of telephone calls enquiring about BBMF hangar tours. Guided tours of the BBMF hangar are available (free to Club members) via the BBMF Visitor Centre which is run by Lincolnshire County Council in partnership with the RAF BBMF.

The BBMF Visitor Centre is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, excluding Bank Holidays. Free parking is available across the road from the Visitor Centre. Guided hangar tours commence at 10.30am each day. Tours leave every half hour, but may go more frequently at busy times. The last tour is at 3.30pm from March to October and 3pm from November to February. Tours of the hangar take approximately 60 to 90 minutes.

Currently, except for special events and large groups, there is no advanced booking. It is simply a case of turning up at the Visitor Centre and you will be put on the next available tour.

The presence of specific aircraft in the hangar cannot be guaranteed, especially during the flying season and occasionally the RAF may deny public access to the hangar. To check on hangar closures and other details and restrictions see the BBMF Visitor Centre website at https://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/history-heritage/battle-britain-memorial..., email the Visitor Centre at [email protected] or telephone 01522 782040.

Please note that, as the BBMF hangar is a military environment, no bags are permitted (including handbags) and there are no secure storage facilities on site. Cameras without bags are allowed. Items such as purses, wallets, mobile phones and other valuables can be carried in a small plastic bag which can be provided by the Visitor Centre. Mobile phones and other smart devices must be in flight/airplane mode. Photography is permitted. Whilst the Centre is fully accessible, only manual wheelchairs are permitted in the hangar; two are available in the Visitor Centre.

The Visitor Centre tea bar is open April to October 10am to 4pm and November to March 10am to 3pm, selling teas, coffees and cakes.
