When did all five BBMF Spitfires fly together for the first time. Was it in the twenty Spitfire formation at Duxford on 9th September 2000.
P7350, Ian Simmons
AB910, Clive Rowley
MK356, Paul Day
PM631, Nick Watson
PS915, Peter Ruddock
Or was it at Coningsby on 22nd September 1998.
Thanks

Does anyone know when in November, the Lancaster will be transiting from Coningsby to Duxford for it's scheduled maintenance?

Hi,
Some time ago the Dakota flew over my house in South Cheshire with it's left engine shut down. I learned that it had diverted to Manchester airport and stayed there for work to be carried out.
Out of curiosity what was the issue with the engine and how did the engineers rectify the problem?
Thanks and regards

Thank you for accepting my Membership Application. I have joined becouse my cousin is Sqd. Ldr & CO Brian John Edward (Sandy) Lane DFC 19 RAF Fighter Squadron Duxford. Sadly killed in action during his first flight with 167 Squadron Ludham on 13th December 1942. I have spent many years researching my family history including Brian and his wife Eileen which has indeed been a most wonderful journey. In addition, my Uncle Sgt Robert Lane AG was MUG aboard 514 Squadron Lancaster Bomber LM206 JI-C which was shot down over Vosges France on 28th July 1944.

I have sometimes wondered which aircraft the pilot's look most forward to flying? The Spitfire or the Hurricane? The Spitfire has the glamour and I've heard pilots say that you wear a Spitfire, but if I was a pilot, I think that the rugged and stable reputation of the Hurricane would appeal to me personally? But what do I know? Nothing, hence my question for those with the real experience. Which is the nicest/the best/ the most pleasing etc., etc.to fly? Over to you.
Thanks in anticipation for replies...

Hi
A recently saw a photo of ZA947 during its time as 'YS-H' and noticed that it had a badge on a white circle on the starboard side of its nose. I seem to remember that when I first saw the Dakota in this scheme it just had the white circle and I assume that the badge must have been added later. Please could you tell me what this badge and when ZA947 received it and why.
Many thanks.

Hi,
What does the name "KWICHERBICHEN" mean and why was it used on the Dakota?
